How to setup Tax group and associate a tax group with a customer?

 Navigation:  Settings --> Configuration Settings --> Quotes and Invoice Settings -->New Tax Group

Navigation: Settings -> Organization Settings -> Customer Settings -> Enable Billing Cycle should be turned on for the linking of tax group with the customer to work
The tax groups section helps the user consolidate the taxes according to applicable taxes for regions or states associated with the customer. 

Tax Settings:

Navigation:  Settings --> Configuration Settings --> Quotes and Invoice Settings --> New Tax Group


Select the "Settings" from the left panel.  Below "Configuration Settings," choose the "Quotes & Invoices" option.  Now select "Tax Group."          



2. Select the "+ New Tax Group" option to add the appropriate tax options under a single category.


3. Select the applicable taxes and choose the "Save Tax Group" option.



4. Once the tax group creation is successful, you can Edit or Delete the existing Tax group.


5.  Select the    edit icon to modify the existing Tax group.


6. Set the applicable taxes and select the "Update Tax Group" button to modify the taxes.


7. Select the   delete icon to delete the tax group.



8. Choose the "Delete" option to delete the tax group.


9. Select the "+ New Tax" option to create tax.



10. You can fill in the "Tax Name" and the "Tax Rate (%)." You can also choose "Associate Tax to Tax Group to link the taxes under a single group.


B. Tax Group Details:
When the customer with pre-defined tax group details is associated with the contracts, the tax details are shown automatically based on the pre-defined tax settings.

 While choosing the new contract and while filling in the asset details, the taxes will be pre-filled based on the tax group settings. 




When the customer with pre-defined tax group details is associated with the invoices, the tax details are shown automatically based on the pre-defined tax settings.


 

When the customer with pre-defined tax group details is associated with the quotes, the tax details are shown automatically based on the pre-defined tax settings. 



It is now easy to associate the tax with the customers, and hence it is helpful to have customer-specific taxes.  

Associate Customers with Tax and Tax Group

1. Select the "Customers" module from the left panel.


2. Select "+ Create New Customer" to create the new customer details.



3. Fill in the Account Details.
  1. Select the billing frequency period from the drop-down box.
  2. Select the payment term details from the drop-down box.
  3. Select the tax group details from the drop-down box.



On saving the customer details, the account details are shown.
