How to Create, Edit and Delete an Asset in V3 Zuper Web App?

Any item purchased by a company as a product and, when distributed to a customer service location to fulfill a job, contract, or service agreement, is referred to as an asset. It can either be owned by the customer or by the company itself.

Here's the step-by-step instructions on how to create, edit and delete an created asset. Once the asset has been created, you can effectively manage your inventory and ensure that the asset is properly maintained and serviced.  
Navigation: Assets-> Asset listing page--> + New Asset

Create Asset

To create a new Asset in the V3 Zuper Web App, follow these steps:

1. Click the Assets icon from the left navigation menu and choose the “Assets” module. You will view the list of assets created earlier. To create a new asset, click the “+ New Asset” button at the top right corner. 

2. Fill in the following fields in the primary details section of the asset. 
*Asset Code - The code identifying an asset. (It will be auto-filled based on the product you choose)
*Asset Name- The name of the asset (It will be auto-filled based on the product you choose)
Asset Serial No - A string ID (letters, digits, & dashes) used to identify a business-owned or customer-owned asset.
*Asset Category - The category to which an asset belongs. 
Asset Image- You can upload an image to better identify an asset (Optional)
Asset Status - The current status of the asset. 
Asset Ownership - The ownership of the asset. This can either be customer-owned or company-owned. 

Purchase Date - The date on which the asset is purchased. 
Purchase Price - The actual purchase price of the product. 
Warranty Expiry Date - The date on which the warranty of the product expires. 
Placed in Service - The date on which the product is placed in service. 
Residual Price - The estimated value of the product. 
Useful Life - It is the time period for which the product can be used. (it can either be days, months, or years)
Asset Description: Add a brief about the asset.
Note: The symbol (*) indicates the fields are mandatory. 

3. Fill in the customer information. When filling in customer information, you can select the organization and the associated customer. If you choose the customer, then the organization will be auto-filled if they are linked to any of the organizations.

Note: Based on the customer or organization you've chosen, the service and billing address will be auto-filled. You can modify the address if needed. 

4. You can also associate a property or parent asset with this new asset. To do so, click the "+ Add" button, choose the property or parent asset as needed, and click "Proceed."


5. Add parts to the asset, if needed. To do so, click the "+ Line Item" button, choose the parts with quantity, and click "Add part." The part(s) will be added to the asset.


6. You can also add any relevant files and attachments to the Asset.

To do so, click the "+ Add Attachments" button and a new pop-up appears. Click to upload or drag and drop the file from your computer (Note: the maximum file size should be 20 MB). Once uploaded, click the "close" button. You can also preview or remove attachments as needed. 


7. After providing all of the required details, click the "Save Asset" button at the top right corner. A new asset will be created successfully. 

You can then add the created asset to a new job or contract as needed. 

Edit An Asset

You can edit an asset from any of the following pages:

1. From the Asset listing page
2. From the Asset details page. 

1. From the Asset Listing Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Actions--> Edit Asset
To edit an asset from the asset listing page, follow these steps:

1. Click the Assets icon from the left navigation menu and choose the “Assets” module. You will view the list of assets on the asset listing page. 


2. Select an asset. An action bar appears below that allows you to quickly update fields, status and bulk print QR for the asset. You can also select multiple assets and quickly edit them. 


3. Alternatively, next to the specific asset, click the "ellipsis" icon under the Action column and select "Edit Asset."


4. Edit the specific details of the asset. Once modified, click the "Update Asset" button to save the changes. 


2. From the Asset Details Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Asset name--> Asset Details page--> More Actions--> Edit Asset
You can view the asset details page directly after saving an asset or from the asset listing page. To edit an asset from the asset details page, follow these steps:

1. Click any of the "Asset code" or "Asset name" from the Asset listing page. The selected asset details page appears. 


2. Click "More Actions" in the top right corner and select "Edit Asset."


3. Edit the specific details of the asset. Once modified, click the "Update Asset" button to save the changes. 


Deactivate/Activate an Asset

You can deactivate/activate an asset from any of the following pages:

1. From the Asset listing page
2. From the Asset details page. 
 Note: When an asset is deactivated, it cannot be added to a new job or contract until it is reactivated.

1. From the Asset Listing Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Actions-> Deactivate Asset
To deactivate/activate an asset from the asset listing page, follow these steps:

1. Click the Assets icon from the left navigation menu and choose the “Assets” module. You will view the list of assets (both active and inactive) on the asset listing page. 


2. To deactivate an asset, select "Deactivate Asset" from the "ellipsis" icon under the action column. 


3. The asset will be deactivated successfully. To reactivate it, click "Activate Asset."  Once activated you can then view the asset and add it to the jobs or contracts, as needed. 

2. From the Asset Details Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Asset name--> Asset Details page--> More Actions--> Deactivate
You can view the asset details page directly after saving an asset or from the asset listing page. To deactivate/activate an asset from the asset details page, follow these steps:

1. Click any of the active "Asset code" or "Asset name" from the Asset listing page. The selected active asset details page appears. 


2. Click "More Actions" in the top right corner and select "Deactivate."


3. The asset will be deactivated successfully. To reactivate it, click "Activate."  


Delete An Asset

You can delete an asset from any of the following pages:

1. From the Asset listing page
2. From the Asset details page. 

Note: To delete an asset, first deactivate it. You won't be able to delete an active asset.

1. From the Asset Listing Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Actions--> Delete Asset
To delete an asset from the asset listing page, follow these steps:

1. Click the Assets icon from the left navigation menu and choose the “Assets” module. You will view the list of assets (both active and Inactive) on the asset listing page. 


2. Next to the Inactive asset, click the three-dot icon under the action column and select "Delete Asset."  The asset will be forever deleted from the inventory. 

2. From the Asset Details Page

Navigation: Assets--> Asset Listing page--> Asset name--> Asset Details page--> More Actions--> Delete 

You can view the asset details page directly after saving an asset or from the asset listing page. To delete an asset from the asset details page, follow these steps:

1. Click any of the inactive "Asset code" or "Asset name" from the Asset listing page. The selected inactive asset details page appears. 


2. Click "More Actions" in the top right corner and select "Delete." The asset will be forever deleted from the inventory.
